Kinedyne Cargo Securement Month

With over 12% of trailers in North America sidelined due to cargo concerns, it's time to buckle up and stay ahead of the curve; review the regulations on securing cargo to avoid getting your trailer taken out of service.

The Federal Motor Carriers Safety Administration (FMCSA) mandates and regulates proper cargo securement on applications including trucks, truck tractors, semitrailers, full trailers and pole trailers. This means that cargo must be contained, immobilized, or secured in accordance with the set standards outlined in section 393.100 to prevent shifting upon or within the vehicle.

Every year, the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA) conducts an International Roadcheck throughout the US, Canada, and Mexico. From May 14-16th, CVSA-certified law enforcement personnel will inspect commercial motor vehicles and drivers at weigh/inspection stations, temporary sites, and mobile patrols to verify compliance with federal, state, provincial or territorial regulations.
