The recall involves about 700,000 2010-2014 MY Prius vehicles and about 300,000 RAV4, Tacoma and Lexus RX 350 vehicles in the U.S.
The Hertz Corporation has introduced 40 new Toyota Prius Hybrid vehicles into its Green Collection in Australia.
For 2014, Toyota’s Avalon will only see a price increase for its base model (Avalon XLE) while the Prius liftback will have no pricing increase.
Beginning with the 2014 model year, Toyota’s Prius Plug-in has reduced the MSRP by over $2,000 to $29,990.
The company said it expects that replacing its existing sedans with these hybrids will reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 42% when comparing the sedans to the Prius Two.
The company announced the MSRP and other details on the four vehicles.
The award is part of the magazine's annual Auto Excellence Awards, in which 10 vehicles are chosen as the top vehicles for the year.
For the Prius, Toyota is offering six different model choices, including one fleet-only model, the Prius One. The Prius One starts at a MSRP of $23,215.
The three vehicles have all drawn the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s (IIHS) Top Safety Pick award for their performance in front, side, rollover and rear-impact evaluations.
New for 2012, the editors not only name what they feel are the 10 “Best Green Cars” of the year, but also rank their selections.
