The institute will undertake research including cause-and-effect mechanisms for damage to infrastructure, evaluating existing assessments of vulnerabilities of communities and critical facilities, and extrapolating storm risks from climate change conditions.
CL&P to Consolidate Service Center, Upgrades Damage Assessment
While some community members in Greenwich, Conn. have voiced concerns that moving the service facility could delay response times, Connecticut Light & Power says it will not affect service or storm restoration. The utility will also start using a new damage assessment tool by the end of the year to increase efficiency of recovery efforts.
