WESTLAKE, OHIO - TravelCenters of America LLC, operator of TA and Petro Stopping Centers branded travel centers, has once again earned honors at the TMCSuperTech competition. Donald Warman, truck service technician at TA Terrell, Texas, located at I-20, exit 503, championed the heating/air conditioning (HVAC) skills station at the event, which took place last month in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

TA and Petro sent 14 ASE-Certified Master Technicians from the combined TA Truck Service and Petro:Lube businesses to compete in the elite competition that included the best truck service and repair technicians from U.S. original equipment manufacturers and trucking companies. TA was the only truck stop company to win a skills station.

The Technology & Maintenance Council (TMC) holds the TMCSuperTech competition each year at its Fall Meeting. The competition measures thorough knowledge of medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicle servicing, and includes both theory and practicalapplication tests.

“We are committed to quality truck service, technical training and ASE certification for our technicians,” said Ara Bagdasarian, Executive Vice President of Truck Service at TravelCenters. “I am proud of all 14 ASE Master Technicians that competed, especially our champion, David Warman,” he added.

Warman’s placement in the elite national skills competition can be attributed to his hard work and to the training and support that TravelCenters provides to all of its truck service technicians. TravelCenters recently opened a new TA/Petro National Training Center that has already trained more than 1,400 technicians in 2012.

This is the sixth consecutive year that one or more TravelCenters technicians have won a SuperTech Championship. TA Truck Service and Petro:Lube technicians are further distinguished by more than 1,500 ASE certifications they have qualified for as a combined truck service/repair network. The network has a total of 229 truck service facilities, more than 1,000 repair bays and more than 2,500 technicians. Additionally, there are more than 1,500 RoadSquad Connect™ emergency roadside assistance vehicles, including over 400 RoadSquad vehicles owned by TravelCenters and operated by its technicians nationwide. TA Truck Service, Petro:Lube and RoadSquad services are available 24/7/365.

In the recently announced Voted Best independent driver survey results, drivers prefer TA and Petro 4 to 1 over the next closest truck stop brand. TA Truck Service and Petro:Lube also dominated the survey in the Truck Repair categories, with driver preference being 4 to 1 in their favor for Best Overall Maintenance Shops; 7 to 1 for Most Competent Technicians; 8 to 1 for Most Complete Interstate Services; 3 to 1 for Best Roadside Assistance; and 2 to 1 for Best PM and Lubrication Services. The survey was conducted by Overdrive magazine.
