SANTA MONICA, CA - Frank Fraser Jr., a retired automotive marketing executive, died Dec. 31. He was 85.

Fraser began his career as a statistician at Chrysler and stayed with the automaker for 16 years.

In 1963, Fraser joined the Campbell-Ewald advertising agency in suburban Detroit. His last position was senior vice president in charge of marketing information for Chevrolet cars and trucks.

He retired in 1989. Later, in California, Fraser was trade publication editor for Bobit Publishing.

"Frank worked as the truck editor for Automotive Fleet magazine and instrumental in helping to elevate the fleet truck editorial content of the magazine," said Mike Antich, editor of Automotive Fleet. "Frank was a true truck expert and we will miss him."
