TOYKO – Effective February 9, 2009, the following organizational changes will occur at Isuzu Commercial Truck of America (ICTA).

Makoto “Mak” Kawahara will return to Japan where he will assume the role of Assistant Director responsible for global business planning under Susumu “Jack” Hosoi, president and representative director for Isuzu Motors Limited. Mak joined ICTA in 2006 and helped guide the company through the transition from the General Motors Isuzu Commercial Truck (GMICT) joint venture and launch of the company’s new 2008 product line.

Kazuya “Ike” Igeta will assume the title and responsibility as president of ICTA. He has been with ICTA since 2007 and is currently executive vice president - Manufacturer Relations and Business Planning. Prior to his assignment with ICTA, Ike was general manager of North America Operations at Isuzu Motors Limited in Japan. He previously had an assignment in the U.S. as manager of Service Parts Operations and Planning under American Isuzu Motors. Igeta brings a wealth of knowledge that will be invaluable to the company’s short and long-term growth, according to Isuzu.

Yoshifumi Komura, currently division executive: International Sales Division No.1 for Isuzu Motors Limited, will assume the post of president of Isuzu North America Corporation and will oversee the operations of all U.S. Isuzu affiliates.

Isuzu low cab forward trucks are distributed through 205 Isuzu truck dealers and 350 GM W-Series dealers nationwide. Isuzu trucks have been the best-selling low cab forward brand in the U.S. every year since 1986, according to the company. Of the 400,000 Isuzu-built diesel trucks sold in North America since 1984, more than 83 percent are still registered and in service.
