COLUMBUS, IN – Cummins Westport Inc. has received certification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (U.S. EPA) for its ISL G heavy-duty natural gas engine to the 2010 emission standards of 0.2g/bhp-hr oxides of nitrogen (NOx) and 0.01 g/bhp-hr particulate matter (PM). The ISL G is currently available in a wide variety of transit and refuse applications, and will soon be available for yard hostler and heavy-duty truck chassis.

The extremely low emissions will allow this engine to secure the maximum level of federal tax credits and other grant and incentive programs targeting surplus emission reductions. The ISL G offers fleets diesel-like performance and reliability while allowing fleets to rely on clean-burning low cost natural gas vehicle fuel.
