Natural Gas Utility Tests Larger Trailers

October 7, 2016

Fairbanks Natural Gas in Alaska is upgrading to larger trailers to transport liquefied natural gas (LNG) to its customers. The utility first ran a pilot program using the custom-made trailer last fall, which has a 13,000-gallon capacity and can hold 30% more gas than traditional LNG trailers, according to News Miner.

These larger trailers allow the gas utility to use fewertrucks when transporting LNG from the processing facility. Due to the pilot's success, the utility has ordered three more trailers for its fleet.
