Bay Area Kenworth Adds Three Locations to Help Expand Customer Support

ARTICLE TOOLS        | E-MailPrint RSS

OAKLAND, CA – Bay Area Kenworth in Oakland, Calif., has added three locations to increase customer support in Northern California. A member of the Kenworth dealer network of nearly 300 locations in the United States and Canada, Bay Area Kenworth’s new locations in Gilroy, Eureka, and Redding join full-service dealerships in Oakland and Sacramento, and a parts store in Hayward.

All full-service dealerships display a wide selection of Kenworth heavy- and medium-duty models. Primary customers are local pickup and delivery accounts, plus many construction and municipality customers.

The dealer recently opened Bay Area Kenworth – Gilroy. The full-service, 30,000 square-foot facility features 10 drive-through maintenance bays, large parts department, and a paint booth. The dealership, which is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, is located at 5870 Monterey Road off U.S. Highway 101 in the Gilroy Garlic Farm Travel Plaza, one mile south of the intersection of State Route 152.

2846 Jacobs Avenue in Eureka and supports the coastal communities in
Northern California. Dealership hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Predictions for Fleet in 2009

By Mike Antich
When looking ahead to the next 12 months, I foresee reduced operating costs for fleets offset by increased depreciation expense caused by anemic resale values and decreased incentive monies. Here’s why I believe this will be the case, along with other predictions for 2009.

2008: One of the Worst Years in Fleet History

By Mike Antich
I can’t recall a year as tumultuous as 2008. The year started with the Jan. 1 termination of the $1.8 billion merger between GE and PHH and ended with the near bankruptcy of GM and Chrysler. In between, we witnessed record fuel prices, then a spectacular freefall in fuel prices, a dismal used-vehicle market, unprecedented credit gridlock, the inability of some fleets to order new-vehicles, and fleet delivery disruptions due to a UAW strike and an epic Midwest flood that submerged rail lines.
