Kenworth Names 2008 Parts Council Members to Help Enhance Customer Support

KIRKLAND, WA – Kenworth Truck Company has named its 2008 Kenworth Parts Council members. The council consists of leading parts managers from Kenworth dealerships in the United States and Canada. 

The council’s goal is to further enhance the quality and value of service to Kenworth customers. Kenworth Parts Council members are: Chairman – Mike McKay, Kenworth Sales Co., Salt Lake City, Utah; Mike Carwile, Truck Enterprises-Richmond, Richmond, Va.; Jo Frost, Edmonton Kenworth, Edmonton, Alb.; Keith King, Kenworth of Birmingham, Birmingham, Ala.; Dale McCord, Kenworth of South Texas, Pharr, Texas; Mike Oswald, Wisconsin Kenworth, Madison, Wis.; Vic Stiller, Inland Kenworth, Phoenix, Ariz.; Dan Villeneuve, Tandet Kenworth, Kingston, Ont.; and Kenworth Dealer Council Representative Ron Whiteford, Lower Great Lakes Kenworth, South Bend, Ind.

To help support customers, Kenworth provides a complete dealer list on its Web site. In addition, the Kenworth PremierCare Customer Center (1-800-KW-ASSIST) is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The service requires no registration fee for emergency roadside assistance and is available to any truck brand. The Kenworth PremierCare Customer Center handles emergency roadside assistance calls and schedules service for preventive maintenance customers, among other services.

SEC Proposal to Allow Early Adoption of International Accounting Standards

On Aug. 27, the Securities and Exchange Commission raised the possibility that approximately 110 U.S. publicly traded companies will be able to use international accounting standards (IAS) next year and may require all U.S. companies to switch to IAS between 2014-2016. There is a 60-day comment period about the SEC proposal. Fleet leasing will be impacted by the adoption of IAS. It is probable that all fleet leases in the U.S. will need to be capitalized sometime in the 2011-2016 timeframe.
