The merger between Iberdrola USA and UIL Holdings will make the combined company one of the largest utilities and the 2nd largest wind operator company in the US.

Iberdrola USA and its subsidiaries have signed onto the Edison Electric Institute's call on utilities to expand their use of plug-in electrics. The company said it has already spent more than $4 million on fleet electrification during the last six years.
