Ford Motor Co. plans to phase out most of its sedans by 2020 in favor of a North American portfolio comprised of 90% trucks, utilities, and commercial vehicles, the company announced with its first quarter financial results.
Ford will debut its standard driver-assist technology package, Co-Pilot360, on the 2019 Fusion mid-size sedan, which has been named Fleet Car of the Year six times since 2011.
With six awards, the Fusion has won more times than any other vehicle. The latest refresh boasts the addition of adaptive cruise control and two new trim levels.
The second-generation Ford Fusion gets a major refresh for the 2017-MY. It is highly customizable with five trim levels, four option packages, and several stand-alone add-ons.

The automaker is reporting a 15% increase in retail sales compared to 2012, when it outsold Toyota by 329,677 vehicles in the U.S. Through November, Ford held a lead over Toyota of 396,041 vehicles sold.
