PG&E's new Class 5 hybrid-electric trucks were developed in partnership with EVI.

At the 56th annual San Francisco International Auto Show that ended Dec. 2, Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) brought several of its fleet vehicles to put on display, according to the company blog PG&E Currents.

Dave Meisel said the utility wanted to be part of the event to show attendees that vehicle electrification isn't just for consumer cars.

PG&E took its Class 5 extended-range electric truck built by Electric Vehicle International (EVI), as well as the VIA extended-range electric truck with exportable power. The truck from EVI achieves around 45 electric-only miles, and the VIA truck gets around 40.

PG&E was listed in Heavy-Duty Trucking's 2013 Top Green Fleets.
