In 2017, Americans consumed only 0.006% less gasoline than they did in 2016, averaging about 9.2 million barrels a day. According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, this will increase minimally to 9.33 million barrels a day this year and 9.4 million in 2019.
The U.S. leads the world in electric and hybrid truck orders with more than 50% of all purchases.
