
La Brea Bakery will be using Smith Electric Vehicles to deliver baked goods in Los Angeles.
LOS ANGELES -- La Brea Bakery announced four new electric trucks will be rolling out in Los Angeles to deliver the bakery’s award-winning fresh baked loaves, rolls, and baguettes.
The trucks, designed by Smith Electric Vehicles Corp., generate zero tailpipe emissions and operate for up to 100 miles on a single charge. La Brea Bakery’s four trucks will travel a combined estimated 1,120 miles a week throughout Los Angeles County to more than 80 retailers and restaurants.
Founded in 1989 by pastry chef Nancy Silverton, La Brea Bakery, Inc. is a U.S. producer of par-baked artisan breads distributed to foodservice and grocery retail businesses. The company maintains ownership of its original flagship storefront in Los Angeles, Calif., in addition to a casual dining restaurant in Anaheim, Calif. La Brea Bakery is owned by Aryzta, AG, a global provider of specialty bakery brands.
