HOUSTON - The Shell Rotella Million Mile Haul of Fame is being introduced to honor drivers who respect their rig and its engine, and take pride in a job well done. Announced at the Mid-America Trucking Show (MATS) in Louisville, the Shell Rotella Million Mile Haul of Fame seeks to honor an exclusive group of professional drivers who have driven a single vehicle whose engine has logged 1 million miles or more under the protection of Shell Rotella heavy-duty oil.

"Truck drivers typically take excellent care of their trucks and maintaining the engine is a big part of that," said Mark Reed, global brand manager for Shell Rotella.  "The Shell Rotella Million Mile Haul of Fame, began in Canada and has now been expanded to the U.S.to recognize drivers that rely on Shell Rotella heavy-duty oil."

Jerry Kissinger, driver of a 1991 Mack Superliner, was honored as the first U.S. inductee into the Shell Rotella Million Mile Haul of Fame at MATS.  He has more than one million miles on his truck, all while using Shell Rotella T heavy-duty oil in his engine.  Kissinger was presented with a Shell Rotella Million Mile Haul of Fame leather bomber jacket, an engraved key chain and a certificate of achievement during a special ceremony in front of fellow truckers.

"Being the first person to become part of the Shell Rotella Million Mile Haul of Fame is a great honor," said Kissinger.  "Shell Rotella has proven to me for many years that it can protect my engine and has helped keep me on the road doing what I love."

Shell Rotella Million Mile Haul of Fame inductees must meet certain eligibility requirements , including  proof that they have driven their vehicle for at least one million miles using only Shell Rotella heavy-duty engine oil since at least the 250,000-mile mark. Additionally, their million-mile engine must retain its original pistons, liners and rings.

The maker of Shell Rotella heavy-duty oil is looking for heavy-duty truck owners who have what it takes to be a member of the Shell Rotella Million Mile Haul of Fame. A website honoring all Haul of Fame inductees will be available soon. It will also contain applications and complete details and restrictions.
