LOS ANGELES - The 2010 Ford F-150 received the 2010 Residual Value Award in the Full-Size Pickup category from ALG, a leading provider of residual forecasting data and consulting services to the automotive industry.

The award honors vehicles in each industry segment that ALG predicts will retain the highest percentage of their original price after a three-year period.

"The F-150 redesign for the 2009 model year was especially significant under the skin. The most capable light-duty pickup is still leveraging that redesign for 2010, but it is also more refined and quiet around town," said James Clark, general manager, ALG. "On top of the product enhancements, F-150's competitive pricing makes it a great value story for Ford."

ALG determines award winners after carefully studying the competition in each segment, historical vehicle performance and industry trends. Vehicle quality, production levels relative to demand, and pricing strategies are among the key factors that affect ALG's residual value forecasts.

"Winning an award like this is great for all of our F-150 customers because it tells them that they made a smart decision," said Brian Bell, F-150 product marketing manager. "It also assures potential future customers that F-150s will not only run great and look great, but they will be worth more when it comes time to trade them in for a new truck."

The F-150 provides customers with more choice than any other pickup truck, with models ranging from the popular XL work truck all the way up to the luxurious Platinum, the sporty Harley-Davidson and the four-wheeler of the year, the F-150 SVT Raptor.

"Plus it delivers fuel economy of up to 21 mpg on the highway, and it does it at a price that represents a great value to the customer at the time of purchase as well as years down the road," said Marc Lapine, F-150 consumer marketing manager.

The F-150 also offers many class-exclusive features like a flat load floor, Ford SYNC, Box Side Steps, a Tailgate Step and the award-winning Ford Work Solutions, a suite of productivity technologies developed for the commercial truck owner. Ford Work Solutions recently received the prestigious 2010 Best of Innovations for In-Vehicle Accessories by the Consumer Electronics Show's Innovations Design and Engineering Award. Additionally, the technology was recognized this fall as "Outstanding Feature" by the Texas Auto Writers Association.
