TORRANCE, CA - City of Columbus, Ohio, Mayor Michael B. Coleman, who launched a city-wide green initiative in 2005, will co-present the Environmental Leadership Awards at the Green Fleet Conference with Mike Antich, conference chair. The Green Fleet Conference is scheduled Oct. 19-20 at the Chicago Hyatt Regency.

In its second year, the Green Fleet Conference will offer solutions and resources to help fleet managers continue environmental initiatives in budget-challenged times. The 2009 conference also will inaugurate the Environmental Leadership Awards program. The awards will be presented to 41 individuals, representing corporate and public sector fleets, whose efforts have led to significant improvements in their fleets' environmental impact.

In remarks opening the awards ceremony, Mayor Coleman will address the importance of recognizing and honoring innovative environmental leadership, particularly in fleet management.
