MADISON, WI – Oshkosh Truck Corp. will provide two snow removal vehicles worth $1 million to the Beijing Capital International Airport, announced Gov. Jim Doyle, according to Business Week Magazine. The company had previously signed a deal to sell six fire engines to the airport to prepare for the 2008 summer Olympics. Doyle made the announcement during a conference call from China, where he is wrapping up the trade mission that also included stops in Japan.

The governor said officials from Oshkosh Truck also discussed future trade deals in China. Earlier in the week, Doyle met with officials at Pudong Airport in Shanghai and saw two Oshkosh Truck emergency vehicles purchased earlier in the year.

Oshkosh Truck is a leading manufacturer and marketer of specialty vehicles and truck bodies for defense, concrete placement, garbage hauling, and fire and emergency.

China was Wisconsin’s third largest export market in 2006, buying $870 million worth of products from the state. That includes $338 million in machinery, $121 million in electrical machinery, and $12 million in paper products.
