General Motors and Donlen have announced a pilot program of integrating the fleet management company’s device-less Donlen DriverPoint solution with General Motors' OnStar.

The program allows Donlen customers to test telematics services on certain OnStar equipped GM vehicles free of charge from June 1, 2020 through July 31, 2020.

“We are excited to leverage our device-less telematics partnership with General Motors to bring to market this pilot program,” said Elizabeth Rossiter, Donlen director of telematics and safety products. “We begin providing fleet insights upon enrollment, so customers can immediately start seeing how driver behavior may be impacting their fleet costs. Without the hassle of installing hardware, we also prevent disruption to the daily activities of our customers’ drivers and field managers.”

The program is available to new Donlen customers with connected Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac models 2015 or newer, equipped with the compatible OnStar module in the United States. Each customer can participate with an unlimited amount of GM vehicles that qualify.

“At General Motors Fleet, we are pleased to be partnering with Donlen in this pilot program to show our mutual fleet customers how telematics data provided through OnStar’s embedded hardware can help them in their day-to-day operations,” said Jennifer Costabile, GM Fleet general director of marketing, rental sales and used vehicle activities. “Based on our experience, we know Donlen’s customers will find that this hassle-free approach to gaining knowledge about their fleets will not only increase safety for their drivers, but it will also help to improve fleet efficiency and reduce costs, which are critical for many businesses during this time of economic uncertainty.”
