Approximately 800,000 masks will be made available for truck drivers on high-truck-volume lanes at more than 30 locations in such states as Georgia, New York, California, and Texas. The effort will be coordinated by the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, and the Department of Transportation.

This comes in the wake of the Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association calling upon the White House and Congress to help truckers across the country secure more personal protective equipment. On April 2, OOIDA sent a letter to President Trump calling for “urgent and immediate action…to safeguard our nation’s supply chain.”
