As a result of the coronavirus crisis, Carbon Tek USA has announced that it will offer fleets its engine cleaning services for free.

Carbon Tek will come directly to the fleet, and it only takes about one hour to clean each vehicle, according to the company. Carbon Tek technicians can work remotely, away from employees and others; they just need access to each vehicle’s keys and space to park their vans.

Carbon Tek’s mobile cleaning service uses hydrogen generators that inject oxy-hydrogen gas to the engine’s air intake (past the air filter), according to the company. The gas reacts with the carbon and converts it to a clean-burning hydrocarbon, which helps remove carbon build-up and can reduce emissions. The service can be used for any gas or diesel engine, mobile or static.

“Our service helps to dramatically reduce carbon-related issues that cause downtime due to constant aftertreatment issues,” said David Puterbaugh, co-owner of Carbon Tek. “Constant regens, lack of power, derates, and lost of fuel economy can all be quieted down with our service.”

The service is available in Seattle, Houston, Oklahoma, North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania, and Arkansas.
