Dakota Bodies announced that Jim Peterson was named president. The change is effective as of Sept. 23, 2019.

Jeff Orthaus, who has been the president of Dakota Bodies since they opened up their doors in 1997, will be appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the company.

“Jim’s knowledge, parallel experience and fresh insight will be a valuable asset as we continue to maintain and accelerate the growth and success of Dakota Bodies,” said Orthaus. “We have outgrown some of our current processes and this new leadership structure will better serve our company as a whole. I look forward to the addition of Jim to our team and building on the momentum established here at Dakota Bodies.”

Peterson, a South Dakota native, was previously EVP of manufacturing operations for Manitex International and has more than 25 years of progressive manufacturing experience. “I am excited to assume this new role and join this reputable team. This is an exciting time for Dakota Bodies, and I look forward to the future and continuing the hard work from which the company was founded,” Peterson said.
