Fleet FAQ? Fleet Management & Leasing

Q. How can fleets plan for changing fuel supplies during extreme weather events?

A. Fleets using fuel cards should have a “storm profile” in place. A storm profile will permit increased spend and transaction limits that allow drivers to fill more frequently, which is critical if drivers are traveling longer distances for relief work or to get out of the storm’s path. Depending on the fuel program, this profile may need to be done by the fuel card provider, but in some cases fleet managers can control these parameters themselves. Ask your fleet provider or fuel card provider if your configuration allows managers to change card limits and monitor transactions in real time.
