GM has recalled its 2016 to 2019 vans, including the Chevrolet Express (shown), for a possible rear window defect.

General Motors is recalling an estimated 1,159 2016 to 2019 Chevrolet Express and GMC Savana full-size vans because one or both of the rear-quarter windows may be tempered glass instead of laminated glass.

In the event of a side impact or rollover crash, tempered glass increases the likelihood of injury.

To fix the problem, GM will notify owners, and dealers will replace the tempered glass windows with laminated glass windows at no cost to owners.

GM has not yet provided a notification schedule. Owners can reach GM customer service at (586) 596-1733. GM's reference number for this recall is N192218960.
