A storm in Connecticut left 1,800 broken electric poles, surpassing the amount of damage left by Superstorm Sandy in 2012. During the peak of the storm — which included four tornadoes, a macroburst, and a microburst —120,000 outages were reported, according to the Hartford Courant.

Utility workers from Canada, Michigan, North Carolina, and Virginia assisted with emergency response and stayed in dorms at Central Connecticut State University, a spokeswoman from the university told the Courant. About 600 utility trucks from around the U.S. arrived to help with emergency repairs.
