Yokohama’s TY527 drive tire is designed for regional and high-scrub applications with 2- and 3- axle configurations.

The TY527 is available in three 16-ply size offerings including 295/75R22.5, 11R22.5, and 11R24.5. The tire is also available in its original 14-ply, 285/75R24.5 size. Yokohama designed the TY527’s 32/32nd tread-depth and 16-ply construction for longer life.

The TY527 improves durability with a directional tread pattern that reduces block movement and resists heel-and-toe wear under high torque conditions. The tire also features wear-control grooves that alleviate contact pressure on the edge of the outside tread blocks. This allows the shoulder edge to flex easier to prevent irregular wear.

The tire features a temperature controlling cap compound that produces stronger and more pliable rubber that minimizes heat generation. This allows deep tread depths to provide greater stability, reduced tread squirm, and high abrasion resistance.

Yokohama’s STEM-2 technology extends the life of the casing by directing stress forces away from critical bead-and-shoulder areas, which minimizes flex in the casing. The tire also has stone damage prevention grooves that keep rocks and debris from reaching the bottom of the groove where they can cause casing damage.
