Cadillac added a third utility nameplate to its lineup in the popular compact SUV segment on Tuesday, when it introduced the XT4 at the New York International Auto Show.

The 2019 XT4 will serve as the entry model below the XT5, Escalade, and long-wheelbase Escalade ESV.

A turbocharged 2.0-liter engine with cylinder deactivation will power the XT4, which will also be equipped with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The front-wheel drive vehicle offers available all-wheel drive.

Fuel economy should reach 30 miles per gallon on the highway, 25 mpg in the city, and 27 mpg combined.

Cadillac will offer three trim grades, including the base Luxury, Sport, and Premium Luxury. Cadillac will also apply these grades to its 2019 CT6.

The XT4 will retail for at least $35,790 plus a delivery charge. It will arrive in the fall.
