Altec Industries, Inc., continues to expand its Green Fleet technologies, including the use of sustainable materials, like aluminum, to meet customer and industry demands.

"Sustainability has increasingly become a priority for our customers," said Justin Chandler, Sales Manager specializing in Altec's Body Division. "Our all-aluminum truck bodies increase payload and reduce fuel consumption and emissions, making them a great solution for our customers-and the environment."

Aluminum bodies are up to 40 percent lighter than steel and weigh about 15 percent less than fiberglass, resulting in a significant fuel savings and a reduction in maintenance. Aluminum also allows customers the choice to step down to a decreased Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) chassis. The non-corrosive material allows customers a 'greener choice' with the continued quality of an Altec body.

Altec Green Fleet specializes in creating products that reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the development of alternative energy products, which increase fuel and operating efficiencies. Altec is dedicated to sustainability on all levels - societal, economical and environmental. Through its products, facilities, and sound environmental approach, Altec is making conscious business choices to meet the needs of the present without compromising the future.
