Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) has mobilized and transported 1,000 power lines from North Florida to Port Canaveral, then to Puerto Rico to assist the country’s efforts to rebuild its electrical grid following Hurricane Maria. FPL leadership has been on the scene in Puerto Rico since Florida Gov. Rick Scott’s energy company delegation arrived Nov 3.

The 1,000 power line poles were part of the company's storm inventory that is stored near one of FPL's substations in Flagler County. Thirty-three trucks delivered the poles to Port Canaveral where they will be loaded on a cargo ship scheduled to leave for Puerto Rico this week.

According to a recent report from Trib Live, power to San Juan should be restored by the end of November.
