WEX Inc. has agreed to a 10-year extension of a contract with Sheetz, Inc., a family-owned convenience retailer, to provide WEX fuel cards, the Portland, Maine-based company announced.
Over a 25-year business relationship with Sheetz, WEX provides private label, universal and tri-brand cards. WEX has seen a significant increase in active card growth over that span. Sheetz operates over 550 locations in six states, including Maryland, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia.
"WEX is honored to continue its decades-long relationship with Sheetz, an award-winning convenience retailer," said Jay Collins, WEX's senior vice president and general manager for small fleet. "This contract extension will not only provide Sheetz with access to WEX's world-class products and services, but its customers will benefit as well through fuel savings programs, fraud protection and data insight."
"WEX has been so supportive to Sheetz throughout our partnership and we are very thankful to see that relationship continue," said Sheetz Director of Business Development Rich Steckroth. "I know we are looking forward to the next decade and working with WEX as we continue to grow our fleet card business."
WEX is sponsoring the Convenience Store Decisions' (CSD) 2017 Chain of the Year ceremony, which celebrates top convenience retailers from around the country.
