Ford Motor Co. is recalling 94,605 2014 Ford F-150, 2014 E-Series, 2014-2015 Escape, and 2015 Lincoln MKC vehicles in the U.S. so dealers can replace faulty seat, seatback, seat belt and seat belt buckle attaching bolts, the automaker said.
The attaching bolts were improperly tempered. If they fracture, Ford said, the structural integrity of the seat or the seatbelt system’s performance may be compromised in a sudden stop or crash, increasing the risk of injury.”
Ford noted, however, that the company isn’t aware of any related accidents or injuries. Ford dealers will replace these bolts at no cost to the customer.
In addition to the vehicles recalled in the U.S., 20,681 will be recalled in Canada for the same issue. A total of 1,510 will be recalled in Mexico as well.
The Ford reference number for this recall is 17S17.
