This week’s Black Book Market Insights report shows the truck segment is remaining fairly stable. When weighted for volume, the overall truck segment values (including pickups, SUVs, and vans) decreased by 0.08% last week, which is better than the average decrease of 0.21% per week in the previous four weeks. 

In truck segments, Sub-Compact Luxury Crossover/SUV and Compact Luxury Crossover/SUV values dropped the most by 0.71% and 0.42%, respectively

Black Book’s Used Vehicle Retention Index recorded a 0.7% drop from the April value. For heavy-duty trucks, over-the-road trucks and tractors continue to depreciate, but conventional and vocational trucks continue to do well. The report also noted that late-model medium-duty trucks, with a 0.4% drop in value from the month before, retained their values better than older units (2006-2013), with a 0.7% drop.
