Utility workers from the Cherry-Todd Electric Cooperative in Rosebud, S.D. helped rescue a group of fair-goers after their ride stopped in mid-air. Journeyman lineman Darrell Scott was at the Rosebud Fair and Wacipi when one of the fair rides broke down, leaving its passengers stuck 50 ft. in the air, reports ECT.coop

The tribal fair took place in a rural area, with the nearest fire department two hours away. Scott called his electric co-op to send two bucket truck, and the rescue took place in about half an hour. Because of its rural location, Cherry-Todd Electric's general manager told ECT.coop that the co-op's team routinely practices bucket rescues.
