The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has certified Landi Renzo to produce a dedicated compressed natural gas (CNG) version of Ford's 2016 model year F-650 and F-750, as well as Ford's F-53 and F-59 stripped chassis models.
The vehicle modifier can now offer dedicated CNG versions of the trucks powered by Ford's 6.8L V-10 engine. The California Air Resources Board has also certified the modified trucks.
Ford enabled the conversions by offering a factory-gaseous prep package for the first time with the F-650 and F-750 for the 2016-MY as part of its redesign of the vehicles. Landi Renzo is a Qualified Vehicle Modifier (QVM) under Ford's program.
Landi Renzo had announced at NTEA's The Work Truck Show in 2015 that it would offer a dedicated CNG F-650 model.
The stripped chassis models would likely be offered to delivery fleets such as UPS and FedEx that use those products as the basis for walk-in vans. Landi Renzo also offers a propane autogas conversion for the stripped chassis products.
