The 2016 Chevrolet Cruze will start at $17,495 and go on sale next spring, General Motors has announced.

The model will offer features such as the standard Chevrolet MyLink radio with a 7-inch-diagonal screen, and Android Auto/Apple CarPlay compatibility. OnStar 4G LTE with a Wi-Fi hotspot and a standard rear-vision camera also are available.

The 2016 Cruze is larger, lighter, and roomier than the 2015 model, and includes two inches more rear knee room, according to Chevrolet. It will be offered in L, LS, LT and Premier versions, with a direct-injected 1.4L turbo engine that generates a General Motors-estimated 153 horsepower. A six-speed manual transmission comes standard.

The Cruze LS with an automatic transmission starts at $19,995 with a GM-estimated highway fuel economy of 40 mpg. EPA estimates are not yet available.

Suggested retail prices include $17,495 for the L manual; $18,995 for the LS manual; $19,995 for the LS automatic; $21,995 for the LT automatic; and $23,995 for the Premier automatic.

Depending on the model, safety features may include Side Blind Zone Alert, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Keep Assist, and Forward Collision Alert.
