The first 2016 Ram 3500 Heavy Duty has rolled off of the assembly line at the company's Saltillo Truck Assembly Plant in Mexico, Ram Truck brand announced.
The 2016 Ram 3500 Heavy Duty Pickup has increased towing and payload capacity compared with the outgoing model thanks to a tweaked Cummins 6.7-liter diesel engine mated to an Aisin transmission. The engine has a best-in-class 900 lb.-ft. of torque which allows it to pull up to 31,210 pounds in the Reg Cab 2WD configuration.
Ram 3500 trucks also have considerable payload capacity at 7,390 pounds. The first truck off of the assembly line was a Mega Cab Laramie Longhorn model, according to Ram Truck.
