Florida-based Wheeled Coach Industries recently recalled and completed repairs on 18 2010 model-year ambulances at risk for electrical problems, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.

The safety recall addressed such issues as loss of instrument panel cluster functions and loss of cab or instrument lighting, NHTSA said. Such malfunctions might hinder emergency responders’ ability to treat patients.

The recall covered ambulances manufactured from May 4, 2010, to Sept. 24, 2010. The vehicles were built on Freightliner Business Class M2 chassis.

Vehicle owners can reach Wheeled Coach customer service at (800) 628-8178.
