Chrysler has introduced an all-wheel-drive version of its Dodge Journey mid-size SUV for the 2014 model year, the automaker has announced.

The Journey SE AWD can be paired with an optional 3.6L Pentastar V-6 engine that produces 283 horsepower and 260 lb.-ft. of torque. The Pentastar V-6 is optional on the Journey SE, SXT, and Crossroad. It's standard for the Limited and R/T models.

The vehicle will retail for $24,895 (excluding destination), which reduces the price of an AWD version by $1,800, according to Chrysler. The 2014 Dodge Journey will be built in Toluca, Mexico.

During the 2012 calendar year, commercial fleets registered 2,750 Journey SUVs. It reached the top four in the mid-size SUV segment that also includes the Ford Explorer, Ford Edge, and Jeep Grand Cherokee.
