Chevrolet and GMC trucks were among the GM models to receive awards in the J.D. Power 2014 Vehicle Dependability Study. The 2014 study tracks 2011 model year vehicles in the third year of ownership.

GM earned the top two spots in the Large Heavy Duty Pickup segment for dependability with the GMC Sierra HD receiving the segment award and Chevrolet Silverado HD ranking second. This marks the second year in a row that GMC Sierra HD ranks highest in vehicle dependability.

The Chevrolet Silverado HD ranked second in the large heavy-duty pickup segment, while The Sierra light-duty and heavy-duty pickups took the top spots in the Large Light Duty Pickup and Large Heavy Duty Pickup segments respectively. The GMC Canyon nabbed the third spot in the Midsize Pickup segment.
