2012 L.A. Auto Show: Trucks, Vans and SUVs

The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter van.

Audi plans to offer a TDI clean diesel version of its Q5 SUV for the 2014 model-year.

Buick had its Enclave at the LA Auto Show.

GM had its Chevrolet Silverado at the event.

Chrysler showed its new "S" version of its Town & Country minivan. The S model comes with new exterior and interior appointments, new safety features, and a segment-exclusive Blu-Ray DVD player.

Ford showed its all-new 2013-MY Escape at the show.

Inside, the Escape features a blind-spot monitoring system, and more cargo volume than the previous model.

One of the new features on the Escape is its hands-free liftgate, which allows you to wave your foot under the rear bumper to open the liftgate.

The Transit Connect Wagon will offer MyFord Touch with SYNC.

Ford is also offering its MyKey feature on the Transit Connect Wagon, which lets an owner set top speed and audi system volume limits.

The Transit Connect Wagon offers a 1,200-lb. payload capacity and is approved to tow up to 2,000 lbs.

The 2013 GMC Acadia and Acadia Denali (shown here) feature new exterior styling.

For 2013, the GMC Acadia features a color touch screen infotainment system and an industry-exclusive front center air bag.

The GMC Acadia Denali feature a rear view camera as standard as well as side blind zone alert, and rear cross traffic alert, systems.

The Santa Fe comes equipped with a direct injection V-6.

Infiniti showed its all-new 2013-MY JX at the auto show.

The Infiniti JX is seven-passenger luxury SUV that comes with a 3.5L V-6.

Kia showed a redesigned version of its Sorento at the LA Auto Show. The Sorento features an all-aluminum 3.3L GDI V-6 engine.

Mercedes showed its high-end AMG models at the auto show, one of which was this GL63-AMG.

Mercedes also brought a unique concept vehicle called the Ener-G-Force at the auto show. Mercedes said designers conceived the vehicle as a "Highway Patrol Vehicle" for 2025.

Nissan debuted its Hi-Cross concept crossover at the auto show.

The Hi-Cross concept features a hybrid (gasline engine and electric motor/battery system) and seats seven.

Chrysler had a display for its new Ram Commercial Truck division. The company had this Ram 5500 on display.

Subaru showed its all-new 2014-MY Forester at the auto show.

The 2014 Subaru Forester features a power rear liftgate with automatic close.

Toyota introduced its all-new 2013-MY RAV4. The latest version of the RAV4 comes with a 2.5L four-cylinder engine.

The XLE and Limited models of the RAV4 offer Toyota's Entune system.

Toyota showed its Tundra full-size pickup truck at the show.

Toyota brought its Sienna to the event.

Toyota showed a Sienna with a mobility option at the auto show.

Volvo showed its XC90 SUV at the auto show. For 2013, the XC90 features a number of new exterior and interior updates.

New exterior colors, LED daytime running lights and taillights, and full exterior color coordination are some of the features on the 2013 version of the Volvo XC90.

Mazda refreshed its seven-passenger CX-9 for the 2013 model-year.

For MY-2013, Mazda redesigned the CX-9's exterior and added new technology features, including a 5.8-inch multi-information display.

Audi said the Q5 TDI will be more fuel efficient and will offer new driver assistance technologies.

For 2013, the Buick Enclave features a number of exterior enhancements, new standard safety features (including a rear view camera), and new infotainment and convenience choices.

The Encore also features a new transmission, a Hydra-Matic six-speed automatic, that is designed to contribute to a smoother shifting feel.

For the 2013 model-year, the Cadillac SRX features Cadillac's CUE infotainment system.

Chrysler had its Dodge Grand Caravan at the auto show.

For MY-2013, the Grand Caravan features the Blu-Ray DVD player with dual screens available on the Crew and R/T models.

Ford had its F-Series trucks in various configurations at the auto show.

Ford brought the passenger version of its all-new 2014-MY Transit Connect, the Transit Connect Wagon, to the show.

Shown here is the long wheelbase version of the Transit Connect Wagon, which has three rows.

In the long wheelbase version of the Transit Connect Wagon, the rear seats can fold flat into the floor to create a level cargo area surface.

Ford also brought the short wheelbase version of the Transit Connect Wagon to the event, shown here.

Under the hood, Ford is offering two engine choices, a 2.5L four-cylinder and an optional 1.6L EcoBoost engine.

The Transit Connect Wagon will go on sale during the fourth quarter of 2013, according to Ford.

GM had its GMC Sierra at the auto show.

For 2013, the GMC Sierra features Powertrain grade braking in normal transmission mode.

Hyundai brought its all-new six/seven-passenger Santa Fe to the auto show.

Hyundai also showed its five-passenger Santa Fe Sport, which has been on sale since August, at the auto show.

Inside, the Santa Fe Sport features Blue Link as standard. It also features a 40:20:40 folding rear seat back, which provides more storage space if needed.

Cargo space in the Santa Fe Sport is 35.4 ft. behind the second row, and 71.5 ft. behind the first row.

Chrysler had its Jeep Grand Cherokee at the auto show. FOr 2013, Chrysler's Jeep brand plans to offer the Trailhawk and Wrangler Moab models of this vehicle.

For 2013, all Ram Chassis Cab diesels feature an all-new cooling system.

Chrysler also had its new 2013-MY Ram 1500 at the show. The Ram 1500 features a more powerful 3.6L V-6 engine.

The Subaru Forester features new safety systems, including the new EyeSight system. This system integrates adaptive cruise control, pre-collision braking, and vehicle lane departure warning.

The fourth generation of the Forester will offer a new 2.0L four-cylinder direct-injection turbocharged “BOXER” engine capable of producing up to 250 hp.

One of the major changes from the previous RAV4 is a change to a rear liftgate rather than a side-opening door.

The cargo area in the 2013-MY RAV4 is larger, with more than 38.4 cu. ft. behind the rear seats, and 73.3 cu. ft. with the rear seats folded.

Toyota had its Scion xB at the show.
