Ford continues to grow its van sales with 20,355 vans sold in August, a 13% increase over August of 2015 and the top-selling month for the company.
Sales of the full-size Transit gained 17% to 11,993 from a year ago. The Transit became the top-selling van in the U.S. in November of 2014, surpassing Ford's E-Series.
While van sales increased, truck sales fell. Total truck sales were down 2%, with 88,372 vehicles sold. Ford F-Series sales of 66,946 trucks mark a 6% decline — and F-Series’ best retail month of the year.
