The Greer Commission of Public Works was awarded the 2015 Green Fleet Leader Award from the Palmetto State Clean Fuels Coalition, according to Greer Today

According to the release, in its award submission, the Commission of Public Works highlighted the company's 20 compressed natural gas (CNG) vehicles and its use of a GPS monitoring system to reduce idling and unnecessary vehicles overlapping in the field.  In addition, the utility partnered with Spire CNG to open a CNG fueling station.

“We were extremely excited to receive this award and believe it shows the outstanding pride Greer CPW takes in promoting alternative fueling sources," said Rob Rhodes, Gas Department Manager. CPW has offset the amount of carbon dioxide usage of its fleet by approximately 29% over gasoline and diesel, according to the company.
