Approved by the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission on Dec. 10, a new 2016 Ford Super Duty F-550 dual rear-wheel truck will be added to the Hibbing Public Utilities (HBU) fleet, according to the Hibbing Daily Tribune.

Truck is expected to cost more than $56,000 while the boom will be an additional $80,000. The truck replaces a 1995 International. Esko Savela, HBU superintendent of electrical systems, says the new truck is smaller and lighter and is something he wants "to try." The local Ford dealership, Ford of Hibbing, will provide maintenance.

The International will be traded in, while a second truck purchase will be postponed until at least 2017.
