Altec has announced the opening of a new service center in Salt Lake City to meet the needs of customers in Utah and the surrounding region. The facility was acquired from Utility Equipment Specialists, an Altec Independent Service Provider. The service center will continue to provide a complete range of repair and maintenance work as well as Altec’s fully comprehensive preventative maintenance inspections.

In addition to unit remounts and rebuilds, Altec’s new Utah Service Center has the capacity to repair all hydraulic components including hydraulic actuators and tools as well as gear boxes, motors, winches and rotary joints.

“The opening of our newest service center in Utah helps to demonstrate our continued commitment to meeting the needs of our customers,” said Lee Styslinger III, Altec chairman and CEO. “We remain focused on bringing the highest level of support to customers throughout North America by providing the industry’s most comprehensive service network.”

The 16,000 square foot building is located on three acres and houses eight service bays. Geographically located between Altec’s Colorado and Northern California Service Centers, the facility will complement Altec’s Mobile Service Technicians positioned in the Salt Lake City region and provide the capability to handle more extensive work truck repairs.

“Altec has enjoyed an outstanding working relationship with Utility Equipment Specialists for 25 years,” said Jeff Benda, Altec Regional Vice President. “This acquisition will allow us to expand our factory-direct service network and leverage the skilled workforce already in place, allowing us to continue to provide the same high-quality hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical repairs for our customers.”

With the addition of the Utah facility, Altec now has 22 service centers located throughout the United States and Canada. In addition, Altec offers an extensive mobile service network providing customers with FPS-certified technicians for on-site repairs and 24-hour emergency support.
