GM Recalls Mid-Size Pickups for Air Bags
The recall affects 2,283 Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon trucks from the 2015 model year.

General Motors is recalling 2,283 2015 model-year Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon pickup trucks because the driver’s-side air bag connections may have been wired incorrectly, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports.
The recall covers trucks manufactured from Jan. 6 through Oct. 1 of this year. The faulty wiring might reverse the air bag deployment sequence and disrupt the deployment timing, NHTSA said. As a result, the trucks don’t comply with all federal safety standards.
To resolve the problem, dealers will reprogram the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM). There will be no charge for this service.
Chevrolet Colorado truck owners can reach GM customer service at (800) 222-1020. GMC Canyon truck owners can call (800) 462-8782. GM's number for this recall is 14690.
