Preliminary orders of Class 5-7 trucks rose 14 percent in October compared to the same month a year ago, marking the top medium-duty sales month since April, according to ACT Research.

During the month in North America, there were 21,700 Class 5-7 net orders, which accounted for an 11 percent increase over September. Through October, Class 5-7 net orders are on pace to reach 218,300 units for the year.

ACT also reports Class 5-8 orders, which have increased 50 percent from a year ago to 67,900 in October.
