Atmos Energy debuted its new Ford F-150 and F-250 compressed natural gas (CNG) trucks and CNG fueling station at its Arlington, Texas, service center on April 30.

The utility teamed up with ZeitEnergy to celebrate the expansion of its natural gas fleet and the new public CNG fueling station.

Atmos Energy has been replacing its service vehicles with natural gas models since 2010. Its initial purchase of more than two dozen Honda Civic GX natural gas vehicles was for its meter readers, according to John Paris, Atmos Energy president of the Mid-Tex division.

"We are thrilled to be introducing 67 new natural gas vehicles to our existing NGV fleet which will also benefit ZeitEnergy’s newest CNG station in Arlington,” he said.

Photos from the April 30 event are posted on the utility’s Facebook page.

Atmos Energy is one of the largest commercial fleets in the country, ranking No. 97 on the 2013 Top 300 Commercial Fleets listing with more than 2,700 vehicles in its operations.
