UPS has dismissed 250 drivers in Queens, New York, after they walked off the job for 90 minutes in support of a long-time employee and union activist, who was fired by the parcel delivery service.

Following the firing of Jairo Reyes, the drivers were let go after the Feb. 26 walk out, reports the New York Daily News.

Public Advocate Letitia James wrote a letter to UPS protesting the decision and asking UPS to "abandon its hard-line approach," she told the media outlet.
