Bosch Nabs 8 of Ward's 10 Best Engines

Eight of this year's Ward's 10 Best Engines feature Bosch gasoline, diesel, or electric powertrain technologie. For the first time, the list includes three diesel engines, all of which feature Bosch’s state-of-the art diesel technology, including common rail injectors, engine control units, high-pressure pumps, high-pressure rails, and sensors.

“Clean diesel vehicles are increasingly more important for helping automakers achieve future CAFE standards,” said Bernd Boisten, regional president, Diesel Systems North America, Robert Bosch LLC. “Having these engines included on this list validates that today’s diesel technology provides overall powertrain excellence with optimal power, efficiency, and lower total cost of ownership.”

• 2.0L Turbodiesel DOHC I-4 (Chevrolet Cruze)
• 3.0L Turbodiesel DOHC I-6 (BMW 535d)
• 3.0L Turbodiesel DOHC V-6 (Ram 1500 EcoDiesel)

• 83-kW Electric (Fiat 500e)
• 1.8L Turbocharged DOHC I-4 (Volkswagen Jetta)
